An unsustainable burden: Georgian refugees from South Ossetia and Upper Abkhazia

Most of the elderly live alone and they are the most vulnerable people of the community, together the children. Poverty and malnutrition are social phenomenons, as even psychologic traumas caused by experience of armed conflict. The income pro-capita of retired persons is 22 lari a month, 11 euro, which is below the minimum poverty level.
