Georgia. A hushed elegy. Georgian refugees from Abkhazia and South Ossetia

IMG 3774 GEORGIA. Ingiri. 2007. A woman in a collective center's courtyard. Only in 2007 did the government set up an action plan to create conditions for communities to return to normal life. The collective centers, where most refugees live, have become small islands apart from the rest of society, where people have jealously kept their identity and their set of values.
The local population is indifferent and hostile to the fate of the refugees, who are considered as foreigners with special privileges who have come to steal housing and jobs.
